Jọn  5 : 1 - 47

5 After this there was a festival of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

5 Iyeke ọni, ọ keghi sẹ ẹghẹ ne Ivbi e Ju ya do ugie ọghe iran; ẹre Jesu na gha rrie Jerusalẹm.

2 Now in Jerusalem at the Sheep Gate is a pool called in Hebrew Beth·zaʹtha, with five colonnades.

2 Ọ ghaa mwẹ onurho ọkpa vbe Jerusalẹm na tie ẹre Onurho Ohuan. Odighi ọkpa kegha rre evba; emwi na tie odighi na vbe Hibru ọre Bẹtzeta. Ọlẹla isẹn keghi lẹga odighi nii.

3 Within these a multitude of the sick, blind, lame, and those with withered limbs were lying down.

3 Avbe ọkhọnmwọ nibun, avbe arhuaro, avbe uke kevbe emwa ne obọ iran ra owẹ iran sikuẹn keghi lovbiẹ lele evba.

4 ——

4 ——

5 But one man was there who had been sick for 38 years.

5 Sokpan, ọ ghaa mwẹ okpia ọkpa nọ ghaa rre evba nii; ukpo eva i rrọọ vbe iyeva (38) ẹre ọ ye nọ ke khuọnmwi.

6 Seeing this man lying there and being aware that he had already been sick for a long time, Jesus said to him: “Do you want to get well?”

6 Jesu keghi bẹghe okpia nii vbe ọ lovbiẹ vba; ọ rẹnrẹn wẹẹ, ọ kpẹẹ re nọ ke khuọnmwi, ẹre ọ na ghi nọ rẹn wẹẹ: “U hoo ne egbe rran ruẹ ra?”

7 The sick man answered him: “Sir, I do not have anyone to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am on my way, another steps down ahead of me.”

7 Okpia nọ khuọnmwi nii keghi wanniẹn ọnrẹn wẹẹ: “Enọwanrẹn, ẹghẹ ke ẹghẹ na ya lughu amẹ na, I i miẹn ọmwa nọ mu mwẹ fi uwu ẹre. Sokpan, I gha we ne I ya laọ, vbene I te sẹ evba, ọmwa ọvbehe laọ nẹ.”

8 Jesus said to him: “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”

8 Jesu na tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Kpaegbe! Kie ewa ruẹ, ne u suẹn gha khian.”

9 And the man immediately got well, and he picked up his mat and began to walk. That day was the Sabbath.

9 Vbe ọwara ọkpa nii, egbe keghi rran okpia nii. Ọ na ghi kie ewa ọghẹe, ọ na suẹn gha khian. Ẹdẹ Ikẹtin ẹre ẹdẹrriọ ghaa khin.

10 So the Jews began to say to the cured man: “It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to carry the mat.”

10 Ivbi e Ju na suẹn gha tama okpia nii na mu ẹre egbe rran wẹẹ: “Ẹrẹna ọre Ẹdẹ Ikẹtin; rhunmwuda ọni, uhi ma kue yọ ne u mu ewa nii vbe ẹrẹna.”

11 But he answered them: “The same one who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’”

11 Sokpan, ọ na wanniẹn iran wẹẹ: “Ọmwa nọ mu mwẹ egbe rran ẹre ọ tama mwẹ wẹẹ, ‘Kie ewa ruẹ, ne u suẹn gha khian.’”

12 They asked him: “Who is the man who told you, ‘Pick it up and walk’?”

12 Iran na ghi nọ rẹn wẹẹ: “De ọmwa nọ tama ruẹ ne u ‘kie ewa ruẹ, ne u suẹn gha khian’?”

13 But the healed man did not know who he was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.

13 Sokpan, okpia nii ma rẹn ọmwa nọ mu ẹre egbe rran, rhunmwuda, Jesu fẹko la uwu ẹbu emwa ni ghaa rre evba nẹ.

14 After this Jesus found him in the temple and said to him: “See, you have become well. Do not sin anymore, so that something worse does not happen to you.”

14 Iyeke ọni, Jesu keghi miẹn okpia nii vbe ọgua Osa, ọ na tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Ghee ẹre, egbe rran ruẹ nẹ nian. Nọnaghiyerriọ, zobọ vbe orukhọ na ru, ne emwi nọ wegbe sẹ ọna ghẹ rruan ruẹ.”

15 The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

15 Ẹre okpia nii na kpa, ọ na ya tama Ivbi e Ju wẹẹ, Jesu ẹre ọ mu irẹn egbe rran.

16 For this reason the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things during the Sabbath.

16 Rhunmwuda ọni, Ivbi e Ju kegha zẹ Jesu kpokpo, rhunmwuda nọ na gha ru emwi vbenian vbe Ẹdẹ Ikẹtin.

17 But he answered them: “My Father has kept working until now, and I keep working.”

17 Sokpan, Jesu na tama iran wẹẹ: “Te Erha mwẹ ye winna do fi ebanban, ọni ẹre ọ si ẹre ne I na ye winna.”

18 This is why the Jews began seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath but he was also calling God his own Father, making himself equal to God.

18 Ọna ẹre ọ si ẹre ne Ivbi e Ju na kakabọ rhiegba yọ wẹẹ, te iran khian gbe Jesu rua, rhunmwuda, vbe aro iran, ẹ i wa re uhi Ẹdẹ Ikẹtin ọkpa ẹre ọ rra re, sokpan, ọ na vbe gha mu egbe ẹre ye ukpo ọghe Osanobua, ọ na gha tie Osanobua Erhae.

19 Therefore, in response Jesus said to them: “Most truly I say to you, the Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things that One does, these things the Son does also in like manner.

19 Ẹre Jesu na ghi wanniẹn iran wẹẹ: “Ne I ta ẹmwata ne uhunmwu ẹmwẹ ma uwa, ẹghẹ ọkpa i rrọọ, ne Ọmọ ya zẹ ọghe obọ ẹre ru, sokpan, emwi nọ miẹn wẹẹ Evbavba ru, ẹre irẹn vbe ru. Rhunmwuda, emwi ke emwi ne Evbavba ru, ẹre Ọmọ vbe ru.

20 For the Father has affection for the Son and shows him all the things he himself does, and he will show him works greater than these, so that you may marvel.

20 Rhunmwuda, Evbavba hoẹmwẹ Ọmọ, ọ vbe ma ẹre emwi hia ne irẹn tobọ irẹn vbe ru. Ọ gha vbe ma ẹre emwi nọ sẹ enena, nọ mieke na yan uwa unu ruan.

21 For just as the Father raises the dead up and makes them alive, so the Son also makes alive whomever he wants to.

22 For the Father judges no one at all, but he has entrusted all the judging to the Son,

23 so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

24 Most truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes the One who sent me has everlasting life, and he does not come into judgment but has passed over from death to life.

24 Ne I ta ẹmwata ne uhunmwu ẹmwẹ ma uwa, ọmwaikọmwa nọ họn ẹmwẹ ne I tae, ọ na vbe ya Ọmwa nii nọ gie mwẹ rre yi, arrọọ ọghe etẹbitẹ gha sẹ ọre obọ; a i khian ghi bu ohiẹn uwu gbe ẹre, sokpan, ọ la uwu gberra gha rrie arrọọ nẹ.

25 “Most truly I say to you, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who have paid attention will live.

25 “Ne I ta ẹmwata ne uhunmwu ẹmwẹ ma uwa, ẹghẹ dee ne emwa ni wulo gha ya họn urhu Ovbi Osanobua, emwa ni họn ẹmwẹ nẹẹn ghi do gha rrọọ; ẹghẹ nii sẹ nẹ nian.

26 For just as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted also to the Son to have life in himself.

26 Evbavba ọre ẹzi ọghe arrọọ, rhunmwuda ọni, ọ vbe rhie asẹ ne Ọmọ nẹ, nọ vbe ya gha re ẹzi ọghe arrọọ.

27 And he has given him authority to do judging, because he is the Son of man.

28 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice

28 Wa ghẹ gi ọna yan uwa unu ruan, rhunmwuda, ẹghẹ dee, ne iran hia ni rre uwu idin ayere gha ya họn urhu ẹre,

29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

29 iran ghi ladian. A gha huẹn iran ni ru emwi esi kpaegbe ne iran gha rrọọ, a ghi huẹn iran ni ru emwi dan kpaegbe, na bu ohiẹn iran.

30 I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

30 Ẹghẹ ọkpa i rrọọ ne I ya zẹ ọghe obọ mwẹ ru. Emwi ne Evbavba tama mwẹ ẹre I ya bu ohiẹn; I i vbe bu ohiẹn eku, rhunmwuda, I i ya emwi nọ rrọ mwẹ ekhọe ru emwi, sokpan, emwi ne Ọmwa nii nọ gie mwẹ rre hoo ne I ru, ẹre I ru.

31 “If I alone bear witness about myself, my witness is not true.

31 “Adeghẹ imẹ ọkpa ẹre ọ sẹ osẹ ne egbe mwẹ, ẹmwẹ ne I ta i gia rhie zẹvbe osẹ ẹmwata.

32 There is another who bears witness about me, and I know that the witness he bears about me is true.

32 Ọmwa ọvbehe rrọọ nọ sẹ osẹ mẹ, mẹ vbe rẹn wẹẹ, ẹmwẹ nọ ta vbekpa mwẹ, ẹmwata nọ.

33 You have sent men to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.

33 Wa gie emwa bu e Jọn, ọ na vbe sẹ osẹ ẹmwata vbekpa mwẹ.

34 However, I do not accept the witness from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved.

35 That man was a burning and shining lamp, and for a short time you were willing to rejoice greatly in his light.

35 Ukpa nọ baa kevbe nọ fi wainwain, ẹre okpia nii ghaa khin. Ukpa ọghẹe te ka gha bọbọ uwa egbe vbe ẹghẹ okaro, sokpan, ovbi ẹghẹ kherhe ẹre ọ ya bọbọ uwa egbe.

36 But I have the witness greater than that of John, for the very works that my Father assigned me to accomplish, these works that I am doing, bear witness that the Father sent me.

36 Sokpan, I mwẹ osẹ nọ sẹ ọghe Jọn, ọni ọre iwinna ne Evbavba mu mẹ ne I ru; avbe iwinna ne I ru na, ẹre ọ sẹ osẹ yọ wẹẹ, Evbavba ẹre ọ gie mwẹ rre.

37 And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time nor seen his form,

37 Evbavba nọ gie mwẹ rre vbe sẹ osẹ mẹ. Wa ma he ka họn urhu ẹre ẹdẹ, wa ma he vbe miẹn ugbaro ọre ẹdẹ.

38 and you do not have his word residing in you, because you do not believe the very one whom he sent.

39 “You are searching the Scriptures because you think that you will have everlasting life by means of them; and these are the very ones that bear witness about me.

40 And yet you do not want to come to me so that you may have life.

41 I do not accept glory from men,

41 I i gualọ etian vbe obọ emwa nagbọn,

42 but I well know that you do not have the love of God in you.

42 sokpan, I rẹnrẹn wẹẹ, wa i mwẹ ahoẹmwọmwa ọghe Osanobua vbe ekhọe uwa.

43 I have come in the name of my Father, but you do not receive me. If someone else came in his own name, you would receive that one.

44 How can you believe, when you are accepting glory from one another and you are not seeking the glory that is from the only God?

44 De vbene uwa khian ya sẹtin yayi hẹ, ugbẹnvbe a miẹn wẹẹ, etian ne uwa ne emwa nagbọn rhie ne egbe, ẹre uwa gualọ, vbene uwa i na gualọ etian nọ ke obọ Osanobua ọkpa nọ rrọọ rre?

45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you, Moses, in whom you have put your hope.

45 Vbọrhirhighayehẹ, wa ghẹ roro ẹre wẹẹ, I gha ba uwa ifiẹzọ ma Evbavba; sokpan, orhunmwu ọkpa rrọọ nọ ba uwa ifiẹzọ, ọni ọre Mozis ne uwa ya aro kọ.

46 In fact, if you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.

46 Ọghe ne ẹmwata, akpawẹ uwa ya e Mozis yi, te uwa gha te vbe ya mwẹ yi, rhunmwuda, e Mozis gbẹnnẹ emwi ne I gha ru yotọ.

47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe what I say?”
