2 And on the third day a marriage feast took place in Caʹna of Galʹi·lee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2 Ọ ghi rre ikpẹdẹ nogieha, iran kegha do ugie orọnmwẹ vbe Kena nọ rre Galili; iye Jesu kegha rre evba.
2 Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the marriage feast.
2 Iran vbe tie Jesu kevbe erhuanegbe ẹre gha die ugie orọnmwẹ nii.
3 When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him: “They have no wine.”
3 Ọ ghi kẹ ekherhe ne ayọn fo, iye Jesu na do tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Iran i ghi mwẹ ayọn.”
4 But Jesus said to her: “Woman, why is that of concern to me and to you? My hour has not yet come.”
4 Sokpan, Jesu keghi wanniẹn ọnrẹn wẹẹ: “Okhuo na, vbe ọni a ghi ya kaan imẹ vbe ruẹ hẹ? Ẹghẹ mwẹ ma he sẹ.”
5 His mother said to those serving: “Do whatever he tells you.”
5 Ẹre iyẹe na tama iran ni ghae emwi vba wẹẹ: “Wa ru emwi nọ rhirhi we ne uwa ru.”
6 Now there were six stone water jars sitting there as required by the purification rules of the Jews, each able to hold two or three liquid measures.
6 Na kha na, akhe amẹ ehan ọghe okuta kegha rre evba, ne emwa ya gha kpe obọ, iran ke rri evbare, zẹvbe ne uhi ọghe Ivbi e Ju khare; dọmwadẹ akhe na, gha sẹtin mu amẹ nọ sẹ omwa eva ra eha.
7 Jesus said to them: “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them to the brim.
7 Jesu keghi tama iran wẹẹ: “Wa sa amẹ vuọn avbe akhe na.” Iran keghi sa amẹ vuọn ehia sẹ unu.
8 Then he said to them: “Now draw some out and take it to the director of the feast.” So they took it.
8 Iyeke ọni, Jesu na tama iran wẹẹ: “Wa sa vbe amẹ na, ne uwa mu gie olaga ọghe ugie na.” Ẹre iran na gele ru vberriọ.
9 When the director of the feast tasted the water that had now been turned into wine, not knowing where it came from (although the servants who had drawn out the water knew), the director of the feast called the bridegroom
9 Olaga ọghe ugie nii keghi danmwẹ amẹ nii na ya khian ayọn, sokpan, ọ ma rẹn eke nọ ke rre (agharhemiẹn wẹẹ, eguọmwadia ni sa amẹ ni rre rẹnrẹn); ẹre olaga ọghe ugie nii na ghi tie ọdafẹn ọha,
10 and said to him: “Everyone else puts out the fine wine first, and when people are intoxicated, the inferior. You have saved the fine wine until now.”
10 ọ na tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Ayọn nọ maan sẹ, ẹre emwa ka mu ladian ne emwa da. Ayọn gha ghi suẹn gha gbe emwa nẹ, iran ke do mu ọghe kẹkan ladian. Sokpan, eban ẹre uwẹ ghi do mu ayọn nọ maan sẹ ladian.”
11 Jesus did this in Caʹna of Galʹi·lee as the beginning of his signs, and he made his glory manifest, and his disciples put their faith in him.
11 Ọna ọre emwi ọyunnuan nokaro ne Jesu ru. E Kena nọ rre Galili ẹre ọ na ru ẹre. Odẹ vbenian ẹre ọ ya rhie uyi ẹre ma, avbe erhuanegbe ẹre keghi mu ẹtin yan rẹn.
12 After this he and his mother and his brothers and his disciples went down to Ca·perʹna·um, but they did not stay there many days.
12 Vbe iyeke ọni, irẹn, iyẹe, etiọnrẹn nikpia kevbe erhuanegbe ẹre keghi kpa gha rrie Kapaniọm, sokpan, iran ma kpẹẹ vba.
13 Now the Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
13 Ugie Alagberra ọghe Ivbi e Ju ghi bu otọ nẹ, Jesu keghi kpa gha rrie Jerusalẹm.
14 He found in the temple those selling cattle and sheep and doves, and the money brokers in their seats.
14 Ọ ghi la ọgua Osa, ọ na miẹn emwa ni khiẹnnẹ ẹmila, ohuan kevbe idu, kẹ kevbe iran ni fian igho ni tota ye aga ọghe iran.
15 So after making a whip of ropes, he drove all those with the sheep and cattle out of the temple, and he poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
15 Vbe Jesu ghi ku irri eso kugbe ya ru asan nẹ, ọ na khulo iran hia ni khiẹnnẹ ohuan kevbe ẹmila hin uwu ọgua Osa rre; ọ keghi zagha igho ọghe iran ni fian igho kua, ọ na vbe ya eteburu ọghe iran uhunmwu rhu.
16 And he said to those selling the doves: “Take these things away from here! Stop making the house of my Father a house of commerce!”
16 Ọ keghi tama iran ni khiẹn idu wẹẹ: “Wa viọ ena hia hin emwa rre! Wa ghẹ ghi ya owa Erha mwẹ khian eke na na do ẹki!”
17 His disciples recalled that it is written: “The zeal for your house will consume me.”
17 Avbe erhuanegbe ẹre keghi yerre wẹẹ, a gbẹn ọnrẹn yotọ wẹẹ: “Ẹmwẹ owa ruẹ gha fian mwẹ re, ọ ghi gha yọn vbe uwu egbe mwẹ vbe na ghee erhẹn.”
18 Therefore, in response the Jews said to him: “What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”
18 Ẹre Ivbi e Ju na ghi nọ rẹn wẹẹ: “De iwinna ọyunnuan ne u gha sẹtin ru ye ima aro, ne ima ya rẹn wẹẹ, u mwẹ asẹ ne u ya ru avbe emwi na?”
19 Jesus replied to them: “Tear down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
19 Jesu na ghi wanniẹn iran wẹẹ: “Wa guọghọ ọgua Osa na sotọ; I gha ya ikpẹdẹ eha werriegbe bọe sẹ odukhunmwu.”
20 The Jews then said: “This temple was built in 46 years, and will you raise it up in three days?”
20 Ẹre Ivbi e Ju na ghi tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Ọgua Osa na ya ukpo ehan yan iyeva (46) bọ, ẹre uwẹ wẹẹ, u gha ya ikpẹdẹ eha bọ sẹ odukhunmwu ra?”
21 But he was talking about the temple of his body.
21 Sokpan, ọgua Osa nọ ghaa guan kaẹn ọre egbe ẹre.
22 When, though, he was raised up from the dead, his disciples recalled that he used to say this, and they believed the scripture and what Jesus had spoken.
22 A ghi huẹn Jesu kpaegbe nẹ vbe idin, erhuanegbe ẹre keghi yerre wẹẹ, ọ ka gha ta ẹmwẹ na, iran na ghi ya emwi ne ebe nọhuanrẹn tae yi kevbe ẹmwẹ ne Jesu tae.
23 However, when he was in Jerusalem at the festival of the Passover, many people put their faith in his name when they saw the signs that he was performing.
23 Sokpan, vbe ẹghẹ nọ ya gha rre Jerusalẹm vbe ẹghẹ na ya gha do ugie Alagberra, emwa nibun keghi mu ẹtin yan rẹn vbe iran ghi bẹghe emwi ọyunnuan nọ ghaa ru.
24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them because he knew them all
24 Sokpan, Jesu ma wa gba ẹko iran, rhunmwuda, ọ rẹn aro emwa ne iran hia khin.
25 and because he did not need to have anyone bear witness about man, for he knew what was in man.
25 Deba ọni, esa i rrọọ ne ọmwa khian ya tama rẹn vbene emwa nagbọn ye hẹ, rhunmwuda, ọ rẹn emwi nọ rre emwa ekhọe.
