16 “I have said these things to you so that you may not be stumbled.
16 “Te I ta ẹmwẹ na hia ma uwa, ne uwa ghẹ mieke na rrua owẹ.
2 Men will expel you from the synagogue. In fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he has offered a sacred service to God.
2 Emwa gha khu uwa fua vbe sinagọg. Uhiẹn, ẹghẹ dee na gha ya miẹn wẹẹ, ọmwaikọmwa nọ gbe uwa rua ghi gha roro ẹre wẹẹ, Osanobua ẹre irẹn yae ga.
3 But they will do these things because they have not come to know either the Father or me.
3 Iran gha ru ena hia rhunmwuda, iran ma rẹn Evbavba, iran ma vbe rẹn mwẹ.
4 Nevertheless, I have told you these things so that when the hour for them to happen arrives, you will remember that I told them to you. “I did not tell you these things at first, because I was with you.
4 Vbọrhirhighayehẹ, te I ta ena hia ma uwa, a i rẹn vbọ gha sẹ ẹghẹ nọ khian ya sunu, wa ghi yerre wẹẹ I ka tae ma uwa nẹ. “Emwi nọ si ẹre, ne I ma na ka ta ena hia ma uwa, ọre ne I na gha gu uwa rrọọ.
5 But now I am going to the One who sent me; yet not one of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’
5 Sokpan, I khian bu Ọmwa nọ gie mwẹ rre nian; ọrheyerriọ, a ma miẹn ọkpa vbe uwu uwa nọ nọ mwẹ wẹẹ, ‘Vbua rrie?’
6 But because I have told you these things, grief has filled your hearts.
7 Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the helper will not come to you; but if I do go, I will send him to you.
Rhunmwuda, I ma na kpa, ọyọmwabọ nii i khian sẹtin bu uwa gha dee; sokpan, I gha kpa, I ghi gie ẹre bu uwa gha dee.
8 And when that one comes, he will give the world convincing evidence concerning sin and concerning righteousness and concerning judgment:
8 Ọ gha rre, ọ gha gi agbọn rẹn vbe odẹ nọ dewarorua, emwi ne orukhọ khin, emwi ne iruemwiẹse khin, kevbe emwi ne ibuohiẹn khin:
9 first concerning sin, because they are not exercising faith in me;
9 vbe okaro, ọ gha gi iran rẹn emwi ne orukhọ khin, rhunmwuda, iran ma mu ẹtin yan mwẹ;
10 then concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer;
10 ọ gha vbe gi iran rẹn emwi ne iruemwiẹse khin, rhunmwuda, I khian bu Evbavba gha khian, wa i khian ghi werriegbe miẹn mwẹ;
11 then concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
11 ọ ghi vbe gi iran rẹn emwi ne ibuohiẹn khin, rhunmwuda, a bu ohiẹn ọmwa nọ kha yan agbọn na nẹ.
12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now.
12 “I te ye mwẹ emwi nibun ne I khian tama uwa, sokpan, egbe uwa i sẹtin rrọ re nian.
13 However, when that one comes, the spirit of the truth, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak of his own initiative, but what he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things to come.
13 Vbọrhirhighayehẹ, orhiọn ẹmwata nii gha ghi rre, ọ ghi dia uwa la ehe ne ẹmwata hia ye, ẹ i khian zẹ ẹmwẹ obọ ẹre ta, sokpan, ẹmwẹ nọ họn ẹre ọ khian ta, ọ ghi vbe ta emwi nọ khian sunu vbe odaro ma uwa.
14 That one will glorify me, because he will receive from what is mine and will declare it to you.
14 Ọ gha rhie uyi mẹ, rhunmwuda, ọ gha do tama uwa, emwi nọ miẹn vbe obọ mwẹ.
15 All the things that the Father has are mine. That is why I said he receives from what is mine and declares it to you.
15 Emwi hia ne Erha mwẹ mwẹ, ọghomwẹ vbe nọ. Ọni ẹre ọ si ẹre ne I na tama uwa wẹẹ, emwi ne orhiọn ẹmwata nii miẹn vbe obọ mwẹ, ẹre ọ khian tama uwa.
16 In a little while you will see me no longer, and again, in a little while you will see me.”
16 Vbe nẹi khian ghi kpẹẹ gbe, wa i ghi miẹn mwẹ; vbe ovbi ẹghẹ kherhe vba, wa ghi werriegbe miẹn mwẹ.”
17 At that some of his disciples said to one another: “What does he mean by saying to us, ‘In a little while you will not see me, and again, in a little while you will see me,’ and, ‘because I am going to the Father’?”
17 Ẹre eso vbe erhuanegbe ẹre na gha tama egbe iran wẹẹ: “Ọ tama ima wẹẹ, ‘Vbe nẹi khian ghi kpẹẹ gbe, wa i ghi miẹn mwẹ; vbe ovbi ẹghẹ kherhe vba, wa ghi werriegbe miẹn mwẹ.’ Ọ vbe kha wẹẹ, ‘rhunmwuda, I khian bu Evbavba gha khian.’ Vbọ ya ena hia kha?”
18 So they were saying: “What does he mean by saying, ‘a little while’? We do not know what he is talking about.”
18 Ẹre iran na gha kha wẹẹ: “Vbọ yae kha nọ na wẹẹ, ‘ovbi ẹghẹ kherhe’? Ma ma rẹn emwi nọ guan kaẹn oo.”
19 Jesus knew they wanted to question him, so he said to them: “Are you asking one another this because I said: ‘In a little while you will not see me, and again, in a little while you will see me’?
19 Jesu rẹnrẹn wẹẹ, iran hoo ne iran nọ irẹn ọta, ẹre ọ na ghi nọ iran wẹẹ: “Te uwa nọ egbe uwa ọta ra, rhunmwuda ne I na kha wẹẹ: ‘Vbe nẹi khian ghi kpẹẹ gbe, wa i ghi miẹn mwẹ; vbe ovbi ẹghẹ kherhe vba, wa ghi werriegbe miẹn mwẹ’?
20 Most truly I say to you, you will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice; you will be grieved, but your grief will be turned into joy.
20 Ne I ta ẹmwata ne uhunmwu ẹmwẹ ma uwa, wa gha khiẹ, wa ghi vbe gha so, sokpan, agbọn ghi gha ghọghọ; agharhemiẹn wẹẹ uwa gha khiẹ, a gha ya akhiẹ ọghe uwa khian oghọghọ.
21 When a woman is giving birth, she has grief because her hour has come, but when she has given birth to the child, she remembers the tribulation no more because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.
21 Emwi ubiẹmwẹ ghaa ru okhuo, obalọ nọkhua ẹre ọ ye, rhunmwuda, ẹghẹ ọghẹe sẹ nẹ. Sokpan, ọ gha ghi biẹ ọmọ nii nẹ, ẹ i ghi ye obalọ nọ miẹn rre, rhunmwuda, ọ biẹ sotọ nẹ. Ọyẹnmwẹ oyẹnmwẹ, ẹre ọ khian ghi gha sẹ ọre.
22 So you also, now you have grief; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
22 Erriọ ẹre ọ vbe ye ne uwa, rhunmwuda, wa gha khiẹ nian; sokpan, I gha werriegbe miẹn uwa, ẹghẹ nii, ekhọe uwa ghi vuọn ne oghọghọ, ọmwa rhọkpa i khian sẹtin miẹn uwa oghọghọ nii.
23 In that day you will ask me no question at all. Most truly I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything, he will give it to you in my name.
24 Until now you have not asked for a single thing in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
24 Vbene ọ te sẹ ẹghẹ na, wa ma he nọ emwi rhọkpa vbe eni mwẹ. Wa nọ, ọ gha sẹ uwa obọ; ẹghẹ nii, ọyẹnmwẹ nọ sẹ uwa ghi gha re nọ sẹ otọ ẹko.
25 “I have spoken these things to you in comparisons. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in comparisons, but I will tell you plainly about the Father.
25 “Itan ẹre I ya ta ẹmwẹ na hia ma uwa. Ẹghẹ dee na gha ya miẹn wẹẹ, I i khian ghi ya itan gu uwa guan, sokpan, I ghi gbe emwi hia ẹho rua ma uwa, vbekpa Evbavba.
26 In that day you will make request of the Father in my name; in saying this, I do not mean that I will make request for you.
26 Vbe ẹdẹ ne ẹdẹrriọ, wa gha nọ Evbavba emwi vbe eni mwẹ; ẹ i re te I ya ọna kha wẹẹ, mẹ ẹre ọ khian gha gu uwa nọ emwi.
27 For the Father himself has affection for you, because you have had affection for me and have believed that I came as God’s representative.
28 I came as the Father’s representative and have come into the world. Now I am leaving the world and am going to the Father.”
29 His disciples said: “See! Now you are speaking plainly and are not using comparisons.
29 Erhuanegbe ẹre na kha wẹẹ: “Ẹn hẹn! Eban ẹre uwẹ gbe ẹmwẹ ẹho rua ma ima, ẹ i re ne u na ka kpa itan.
30 Now we know that you know all things and you do not need to have anyone question you. By this we believe that you came from God.”
31 Jesus answered them: “Do you believe now?
31 Jesu na wanniẹn iran wẹẹ: “Wa gele yayi nian ra?
32 Look! The hour is coming, indeed, it has come, when each one of you will be scattered to his own house and you will leave me alone. But I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
32 Ghee ẹre! Ẹghẹ dee, uhiẹn, ẹghẹ nii sẹ nẹ nian, ne dọmwadẹ ọghẹe vbe uwu uwa khian ya zagha kua, dọmwadẹ ọghẹe ghi zẹ odẹ owa ẹre, wa ghi sẹ mwẹ rae. Vbọrhirhighayehẹ, ẹ i re imẹ ọkpa ẹre ọ rrọọ, rhunmwuda, Evbavba gu mwẹ rrọọ.
33 I have said these things to you so that by means of me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage! I have conquered the world.”
I khọn agbọn na mu otọ nẹ.”
