5 Then they came to the other side of the sea into the region of the Gerʹa·senes.
5 Vbe iyeke ọni, iran keghi sẹ obọ nọkpa ọghe okun, vbe ikinkin ọghe Gẹrasa.
2 And immediately after Jesus got out of the boat, a man under the power of an unclean spirit met him from among the tombs.
2 Vbe Jesu ghi wa ladian vbe uwu okọ, okpia ọkpa ne orhiọn dan loo, nọ ladian vbe ọkpẹn avbe uvun okuta ni rre itẹ, keghi vba e Jesu.
3 His haunt was among the tombs, and up to that time, absolutely no one was able to bind him securely, even with a chain.
3 Itẹ ẹre ọ ghaa dia; ọ te do sẹ ẹghẹ nii, a ma miẹn ọmwa nọ sẹtin muẹn gba, a ma kue miẹn ọmwa nọ sẹtin ya ọgiọrọ gbalọe mu fi otọ.
4 He had often been bound with fetters and chains, but he snapped the chains apart and smashed the fetters; and nobody had the strength to subdue him.
4 Ẹ i re avbiẹ inugba ẹre emwa te ya igaza kevbe ọgiọrọ rrọ ọre, sokpan, ọ ghi giagia ọgiọrọ nii, ọ ghi vbe guọghọ igaza nii hẹ kua; a ma miẹn ọmwa rhọkpa nọ sẹtin ẹnrẹn.
5 And continually, night and day, he was crying out in the tombs and in the mountains and slashing himself with stones.
5 Ẹghẹ hia, ke asọn ke avan, ẹre ọ ya gha so ladian vbe uwu itẹ kevbe uhunmwu oke, ọ ghi gha ya okuta valọ egbe ẹre.
6 But on catching sight of Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed down to him.
6 Sokpan, ọ ghi bẹghe Jesu vbe urria, ọ keghi rhulẹ bu ẹre, ọ na gbe uhunmwu kotọ nẹẹn.
7 Then he cried out with a loud voice: “What have I to do with you, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I put you under oath by God not to torment me.”
7 Vbe iyeke ọni, ọ keghi rhie so, ọ na wẹẹ: “Vbọ kaan mwẹ kaan ruẹ, Jesu ne Ovbi Osanobua Nọ Yo Sẹ? Yan ma mwẹ vbe odaro Osanobua wẹẹ, u i khian rriọ mwẹ oya.”
8 For Jesus had been saying to it: “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit.”
8 Te ọ ta ẹmwẹ na, rhunmwuda ne Jesu na gha tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Wẹ ne orhiọn dan, ladian vbe egbe okpia na rre.”
9 But Jesus asked him: “What is your name?” And he replied: “My name is Legion, because there are many of us.”
9 Sokpan, Jesu na nọ rẹn wẹẹ: “Vba tie ruẹ?” Ọ keghi wanniẹn ọnrẹn wẹẹ: “Eni mwẹ ọre Oghẹn, rhunmwuda, ma wa bun.”
10 And he kept pleading with Jesus not to send the spirits out of the country.
10 Ọ na gha rinmwian e Jesu, nẹ ghẹ khulo avbe orhiọn dan nii hin otọ ẹvbo nii rre.
11 Now a great herd of swine was feeding there at the mountain.
11 Vbe ẹghẹ na kha na, oghẹn elẹdẹ kegha rri evbare vbe uhunmwu oke nọ rre evba.
12 So the spirits pleaded with him: “Send us into the swine, so that we may enter into them.”
12 Ẹre avbe orhiọn dan nii na gha rinmwiaẹn, iran na tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Lahọ, gi ima la uwu avbe elẹdẹ nii.”
13 And he gave them permission. With that the unclean spirits came out and went into the swine, and the herd rushed over the precipice into the sea, about 2,000 of them, and were drowned in the sea.
13 Ẹre ọ na we ne iran gha khian. Ẹre avbe orhiọn dan nii na ladian, iran na la uwu avbe elẹdẹ nii, oghẹn elẹdẹ nii hia na ghi khọn gha rrie eke ne oke na han, iran na ke evba kharha ku uwu okun; avbe elẹdẹ ni wulo ye uwu okun, rrie odẹ arriaisẹn vbe ihe eva (2,000).
14 But their herders fled and reported it in the city and in the countryside, and people came to see what had happened.
14 Sokpan, emwa ni gbaroghe avbe elẹdẹ nii keghi lẹẹ fua, iran na ya na iyẹn na vbe orere ẹvbo kevbe ikinkin nii. Ẹre emwa na gha dee, ne iran do ya aro iran bẹghe emwi nọ sunu.
15 So they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man, the one who previously had the legion, sitting clothed and in his right mind, and they grew fearful.
15 Iran keghi bu e Jesu gha dee, iran ghi rre, iran na miẹn okpia nii ne orhiọn dan te gha loo, ọni ọre okpia nii ne oghẹn ọghe avbe orhiọn dan te rre ọre egbe. Nene okpia na tota, na kha na, ọ hẹ ukpọn yọ, aro vbe hian rẹn; iran ghi miẹn ọnrẹn, ohan na suẹn gha mu iran.
16 Also, those who had seen it related to them how this had happened to the demon-possessed man and the swine.
16 Deba ọni, emwa ne aro iran sẹ emwi nọ sunu, keghi tama iran emwi hia nọ sunu daa okpia nii ne orhiọn dan te loo kevbe avbe elẹdẹ nii.
17 So they began to plead with Jesus to go away from their region.
17 Rhunmwuda ọni, iran na suẹn gha rinmwian e Jesu nọ kpa hin ikinkin ọghe iran rre.
18 Now as he was boarding the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed pleaded to go with him.
18 Jesu khian ghi la okọ kpa, okpia nii ne orhiọn dan te ka gha loo, keghi rinmwian e Jesu wẹẹ, irẹn hoo ne irẹn lelẹe.
19 However, he did not let him but said to him: “Go home to your relatives, and report to them all the things Jehovah has done for you and the mercy he has shown you.”
19 Vbọrhirhighayehẹ, Jesu ma kue, sokpan, ọ na tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Bu ẹgbẹe ruẹ gha rrie owa, ne u ya tama iran emwi hia ne Jehova ru nuẹn kevbe itohan nọ mwẹ ghee ruẹ.”
20 This man went away and started to proclaim in the De·capʹo·lis all the things Jesus had done for him, and all the people were amazed.
20 Okpia nii keghi kpa, ọ na suẹn gha yae wewe khian vbe Dikapolis, emwi hia ne Jesu ru ne irẹn; ọ keghi yan emwa hia ni họẹn unu ruan.
21 After Jesus had crossed again by boat to the opposite shore, a large crowd gathered together to him, and he was by the sea.
21 Vbe Jesu ghi werriegbe ya okọ fian okun rra gha rrie obọ nọkpa, emwa nibun keghi si koko ye eke nọ ye vbe ọkpẹn okun.
22 One of the presiding officers of the synagogue, named Jaʹi·rus, now came, and on catching sight of him, he fell at his feet.
22 Okpia ọkpa na tie ẹre Jerọs, nọ re ọkpa vbe usun iran ni rre ukpo ọdakha vbe sinagọg keghi rre, ọ ghi bẹghe Jesu, ọ na fan fi iguẹ vbe akharha ẹre.
23 He pleaded with him many times, saying: “My little daughter is extremely ill. Please come and put your hands on her so that she may get well and live.”
23 Ẹ i re avbiẹ inugba ẹre ọ rinmwiaẹn, ọ na gha tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Ovbi mwẹ nokhuo wa kakabọ khuọnmwi. Lahọ, do ya obọ kaan rẹn, ne egbe mieke na rran rẹn, nẹ ghẹ wu.”
24 At that Jesus went with him, and a large crowd was following him and pressing against him.
24 Rhunmwuda ọni, Jesu keghi lelẹe. Emwa nibun na vbe bi lele Jesu, iran na gha ya egbe wiẹn ọnrẹn zẹvbe ne iran ya bi lelẹe khian.
25 Now there was a woman who had had a flow of blood for 12 years.
25 Ọ ghaa mwẹ okhuo ọkpa ne esagiẹn ghaa tue; ukpo iweva (12) ẹre ọ ye, ne okhuo na ke khuọnmwi emianmwẹ na.
26 She had suffered much at the hands of many physicians and had spent all her resources, and she was no better but, rather, had become worse.
26 Ọ rri oya nẹ vbe obọ avbe ọbo nibun; emwi hia nọ mwẹ ẹre ọ he zẹ ye emianmwẹ na, sokpan, ọ ma gba ẹre, te ọ ghi kue tua yọ.
27 When she heard the reports about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his outer garment,
27 Vbe okhuo nii ghi họn okhekhe ọghe Jesu, ọ na la uwu ẹbu, ọ na ke iyeke ya obọ kaan ẹwu nọ yọ ke odukhunmwu,
28 for she kept saying: “If I touch just his outer garments, I will get well.”
28 rhunmwuda, okhuo na kegha kha wẹẹ: “Ọ ghaa re ẹwu nọ yọ ke odukhunmwu ọkpa kẹkan, ẹre I wa sẹtin ya obọ kaan, egbe gha rran mwẹ.”
29 And immediately her flow of blood dried up, and she sensed in her body that she had been healed of the grievous sickness.
29 Vbe ọwara ọkpa nii, esagiẹn nọ tue ẹre na wa ka; okhuo nii na wa rẹn wẹẹ, emianmwẹ dan nii fo nẹ vbe egbe irẹn.
30 Immediately Jesus realized in himself that power had gone out of him, and he turned around in the crowd and asked: “Who touched my outer garments?”
30 Vbe ọwara ọkpa nii, Jesu na wa rẹn wẹẹ, ẹtin eso kpa hin irẹn egbe rre; ọ ghi ghee emwa ni gbẹbu lẹga, ọ na nọ wẹẹ: “Gha ya obọ kaan mwẹ ukpọn?”
31 But his disciples said to him: “You see the crowd pressing in on you, and you ask, ‘Who touched me?’”
31 Sokpan, erhuanegbe ẹre na tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Wẹ miẹn vbene emwa ma rhu ruẹ hẹ, vbọzẹ ne u na ye nọ wẹẹ, ‘Gha ya obọ kaan mwẹ?’”
32 However, he was looking around to see who had done this.
32 Sokpan, ọ na gha ya aro gualọ ọmwa nọ ru ẹre.
33 The woman, frightened and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.
33 Ohan na suẹn gha mu okhuo nii, ọ na vbe gha guọ zẹzẹzẹ, rhunmwuda, okhuo nii rẹn emwi nọ sunu vbe egbe ẹre; ọ na ghi ladian, ọ na fan fi iguẹ vbe odaro e Jesu, ọ na ta emwi hia ma rẹn.
34 He said to her: “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed from your grievous sickness.”
34 Jesu na tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Ovbi mwẹ, amuẹtinyan ruẹ mu ruẹ egbe rran nẹ. Gha khian, ọfunmwegbe gu ruẹ rrọọ. Emianmwẹ dan ne u khuọnmwi fo nẹ.”
35 While he was yet speaking, some men from the home of the presiding officer of the synagogue came and said: “Your daughter died! Why bother the Teacher any longer?”
35 Vbe ọ wa ye guan nii, ikpia eso keghi rre; owa okpia nii nọ rre ukpo ọdakha vbe sinagọg ẹre iran ke rre. Iran na tama okpia nii wẹẹ: “Ovbuẹ nokhuo wu nẹ! De emwi ne u ye kpokpo Ọmamwaemwi ba?”
36 But Jesus overheard their words and said to the presiding officer of the synagogue: “Have no fear, only exercise faith.”
36 Sokpan, ẹmwẹ na keghi fi la e Jesu ehọ, ọ na ghi tama okpia nii nọ rre ukpo ọdakha vbe sinagọg wẹẹ: “Ghẹ fian afianma, sokpan, wa gha mwẹ amuẹtinyan.”
37 Now he did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
37 Jesu ma kue ne ọmwa rhọkpa lele irẹn, vbọ gberra e Pita, e Jems kevbe Jọn ne ọtiẹn e Jems.
38 So they came to the house of the presiding officer of the synagogue, and he saw the commotion and those weeping and wailing loudly.
38 Vbe iran ghi sẹ owa okpia nii nọ rre ukpo ọdakha vbe sinagọg, Jesu keghi bẹghe emwa hia ni gbe owogho, eso viẹ, eso na gha go.
39 After stepping in, he said to them: “Why are you weeping and causing this commotion? The child has not died but is sleeping.”
39 Ọ ghi la uwu owa, ọ na tama iran wẹẹ: “Vbọzẹ ne uwa na viẹ, ne uwa na vbe gbe owogho? Ọmọ na ma wu, sokpan, te ọ vbiẹ.”
40 At this they began to laugh at him scornfully. But after sending them all outside, he took the child’s father and mother and those with him, and he went in where the child was.
40 Vbe ọ ghi ta ẹmwẹ na, iran na suẹn gha giẹ ọre. Sokpan, ọ ghi tama iran hia nẹ, ne iran ladian, ọ na rhie erha ọmọ nii kevbe iye ọmọ nii lele egbe, kẹ kevbe emwa ni lelẹe rre, ọ na gha rrie ehe ne ọmọ nii ye.
41 Then, taking the hand of the child, he said to her: “Talʹi·tha cuʹmi,” which, when translated, means: “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”
41 Ọ na rhie ọmọ nii obọ, ọ na tama rẹn wẹẹ: “Talita kumi,” emwi na yae kha vbe a gha zedu ẹre, ọre: “Ọmokhuo, I tama ruẹ nian, kpaegbe!”
42 And immediately the girl rose and began walking. (She was 12 years old.) And at once they were beside themselves with great ecstasy.

43 But he ordered them again and again to let no one learn of this, and he said that something should be given her to eat.
