4 Again he began teaching beside the sea, and a very large crowd gathered near him. So he went aboard a boat and sat in it away from the shore, but the whole crowd was next to the sea, along the shore.
2 And he began to teach them many things with illustrations, and while he was teaching, he said to them:
2 Ọ na suẹn gha zẹ erre, nọ ya ma iran emwi nibun; vbe ọ ghi ma iran emwi, ọ na tama iran wẹẹ:
3 “Listen. Look! The sower went out to sow.
3 “Wa danmwehọ. Ọkemwiokọ ọkpa keghi ya kọ emwiokọ.
4 As he was sowing, some seeds fell alongside the road, and the birds came and ate them up.
4 Zẹvbe nọ ya kọ emwiokọ nii, ikpẹ eso na kharha ku abọ odẹ, ẹre avbe ahianmwẹ na do rhọ iran re.
5 Others fell on rocky ground where there was not much soil, and they immediately sprang up because the soil was not deep.
6 But when the sun rose, they were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
6 Sokpan, ovẹn ghi yunmwu, ọ na giẹn iran, iran na ghi luẹlua, rhunmwuda, iran i mwẹ inian vbe uwu otọ.
7 Other seeds fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them, and they yielded no fruit.
7 Ikpẹ eso na kharha ye uwu igban; avbe igban nii ghi waan rre, iran na khuakhua iran gbua. Rhunmwuda ọni, iran ma ghi mọ.
8 But others fell on the fine soil, and growing up and increasing, they began to yield fruit, and they were bearing 30, 60, and 100 times more.”
9 Then he added: “Let the one who has ears to listen, listen.”
9 Ọ na vbe rhie te ẹre wẹẹ: “Ọmwa nọ mwẹ ehọ na ya họn ẹmwẹ, gi ẹre họn.”
10 Now when he was alone, those around him with the Twelve began questioning him about the illustrations.
10 Ọ ghi kẹ Jesu ọkpa, erhuanegbe ẹre eso kevbe avbe ukọ ne Iweva, keghi suẹn gha nọ rẹn ọta vbekpa erre nọ zẹ.
11 He said to them: “To you the sacred secret of the Kingdom of God has been given, but to those outside all things are in illustrations,
11 Ọ keghi tama iran wẹẹ: “Nọ ne uwa, a tae ma uwa nẹ, ighẹ ẹmwẹ oro nọhuanrẹn ọghe Arriọba Osanobua, sokpan, nọ ne emwa nikẹre, erre ẹre a ya gu iran guan,
12 so that, though looking, they may look and still not see, and though hearing, they may hear and still not get the sense of it; nor will they ever turn back and receive forgiveness.”
12 na mieke na miẹn wẹẹ, iran gha rhan aro yotọ, iran i bẹghe emwi rhọkpa; iran gha họn ẹmwẹ, iran i rẹn emwi na yae kha. Rhunmwuda ọni, iran i khian kie werriegbe ẹdẹ, na mieke na yabọ iran.”
13 Further, he said to them: “You do not know this illustration, so how will you understand all the other illustrations?
13 Yevbesọni, ọ na nọ iran wẹẹ: “Ugbẹnvbe uwa ma rẹn otọ erre na, de vbene uwa khian ghi ya rẹn otọ erre nikẹre hẹ?
14 “The sower sows the word.
14 “Ọkemwiokọ nii ọre ọmwa nọ kọ ẹmwẹ nii.
15 These, then, are the ones alongside the road where the word is sown; but as soon as they have heard it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.
15 Ikpẹ ni kharha ku abọ odẹ, keghi re emwa na kọ ẹmwẹ nii ye ọre ekhọe; sokpan, vbe iran ghi wa họn ẹmwẹ nii, Setan keghi rre do rhie ẹmwẹ nii hin iran ekhọe rre.
16 Likewise, these are the ones sown on rocky ground; as soon as they have heard the word, they accept it with joy.
17 Yet they have no root in themselves, but they continue for a time; then as soon as tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, they are stumbled.
17 Ọrheyerriọ, ẹmwẹ nii ma gbọzinian vbe ekhọe iran, sokpan, iran na fẹko yae gha gaga khian vbe ovbi ẹghẹ kherhe; ẹghẹ ne orueghe ra ukpokpo ghi ya rre rhunmwuda ẹmwẹ nii, iran na dele kua.
18 There are still others that are sown among the thorns. These are the ones who have heard the word,
19 but the anxieties of this system of things and the deceptive power of riches and the desires for everything else make inroads and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
19 sokpan, osi ẹmwẹ agbọn na kevbe erẹrẹ nọ lele ẹfe khian, kevbe emwi ughughan ne aro iran ghi wu yi nẹ, keghi rẹnrẹn la iran ekhọe, ọ na ya khuakhua ẹmwẹ nii gbua, ọ ma ghi mọ.
20 Finally, the ones that were sown on the fine soil are those who listen to the word and favorably receive it and bear fruit—30, 60, and 100 times more.”
21 He also said to them: “A lamp is not brought out to be put under a basket or under a bed, is it? Is it not brought out to be put on a lampstand?
21 Ọ na vbe tama iran wẹẹ: “Wa he miẹn eke ne ọmwa na rhu ukpa, ọ ghi ya okhuae gue ẹre ginna otọ ra, ra ọ ghi ya muẹn ye ototọ ebẹdi ra? Ẹ i re erhan ọmukpa, ẹre ọ khian muẹn yan ra?
22 For there is nothing hidden that will not be exposed; nothing is carefully concealed that will not come out in the open.
22 Emwi ọkpa i rrọọ nọ rre ẹkhokho, nẹi khian vẹ vbe okiekie; emwi ọkpa i vbe rrọọ na guere ẹsẹsẹmwẹse, nai khian wee rua vbe okiekie.
23 Whoever has ears to listen, let him listen.”
23 Ọmwa nọ mwẹ ehọ na ya họn ẹmwẹ, gi ẹre họn.”
24 He further said to them: “Pay attention to what you are hearing. With the measure that you are measuring out, you will have it measured out to you, yes, you will have more added to you.
24 Ọ na ye vbe tama iran wẹẹ: “Wa yẹrẹro ighẹ ẹmwẹ ne I tama uwa na. Vbene uwa ya rhie ladian, erriọ ẹre uwa khian vbe ya miẹn werriegbe, uhiẹn, wa ghi kue miẹn nọ sẹ ọni.
25 For whoever has will have more given to him, but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
25 Rhunmwuda, ọmwaikọmwa nọ ka mwẹ, a ghi viọ ba ẹre nẹẹn, sokpan, ọmwaikọmwa nẹi ka mwẹ, uhiẹn, ekherhe nọ te mwẹ, a ghi miẹn ọnrẹn ẹre.”
26 So he went on to say: “In this way the Kingdom of God is just as when a man casts seeds on the ground.
26 Ọ na vbe kha wẹẹ: “A gha sẹtin ya Arriọba Osanobua gie okpia ọkpa nọ ya kọ ikpẹ emwiokọ ye ugbo.
27 He sleeps at night and rises up by day, and the seeds sprout and grow tall—just how, he does not know.
27 Asọn gha rre, ọ ghi lovbiẹ; ẹdẹ gha gbe, ọ ghi rhiọrre. Emwiokọ nii ghi zọọ, ọ ghi waan. Sokpan, vbene ọ ya sunu hẹ, ọ ma rẹn.
28 On its own the ground bears fruit gradually, first the stalk, then the head, finally the full grain in the head.
28 Emwiokọ nii ẹre ọ fẹko tobọre zọọ ladian vbe otọ, ọ ke do mọ; vbe okaro, ọ ghi ka gbe ukhu ladian, iyeke ọni, ọ ghi gbe ihiagha, vbe okiekie, ọmọ rẹn ghi do ladian.
29 But as soon as the crop permits it, he thrusts in the sickle, because the harvesttime has come.”
30 And he went on to say: “With what can we compare the Kingdom of God, or with what illustration can we explain it?
31 It is like a mustard grain, which at the time it was sown in the ground was the tiniest of all the seeds on the earth.
31 Te ọ yevbe ikpẹ e mọstad; vbe ẹghẹ na ya kọe, irẹn ẹre ọ ghi tuẹin sẹ vbe uwu avbe ikpẹ emwiokọ hia na ghi miẹn nẹ vbe agbọn na.
32 But when it has been sown, it grows and becomes greater than all other vegetable plants and produces great branches, so that the birds of heaven are able to find lodging under its shadow.”
32 Sokpan, a gha ghi kọe nẹ, ọ ghi do khian emwiokọ nọ ghi kpọlọ sẹ vbe uwu avbe emwiokọ hia ni ghi mwẹ ebe na re nẹ, ọ ghi vbe zẹlẹ abọ ni kọnkọn. Ẹghẹ nii, avbe ahianmwẹ ni tin vbe orere iso ghi rre do gha bọlọ oko ye ototọ irhu ọghẹe.”
33 With many illustrations of that sort he spoke the word to them, to the extent that they were able to listen.
33 Erre nibun vbenian, ẹre Jesu ghaa zẹ vbe ọ gha khian gu iran guan, ọ keghi zẹ erre ma iran, zẹvbe ne iran gha sẹtin rẹn otọ re.
34 Indeed, without an illustration he would not speak to them, but he would explain all things privately to his disciples.
34 Vbene ẹmwata, ẹ i ta ẹmwẹ ọkpa ma iran, vbene ọ ma na zẹ erre, sokpan, ọ gha ghi kẹ irẹn vbe erhuanegbe ẹre ọkpa, ọ ghi rhan otọ emwi hia ma iran.
35 And on that day, when evening had fallen, he said to them: “Let us cross to the other shore.”
35 Ọ ghi sẹ ẹghẹ ota nẹ vbe ẹdẹrriọ, Jesu na tama iran wẹẹ: “Wa gi ima fian okun rra gha rrie obọ nọkpa.”
36 So after they had dismissed the crowd, they took him in the boat, just as he was, and there were other boats with him.
37 Now a great violent windstorm broke out, and the waves kept crashing into the boat, so that the boat was close to being swamped.
38 But he was in the stern, sleeping on the pillow. So they woke him up and said to him: “Teacher, do you not care that we are about to perish?”
39 With that he got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea: “Hush! Be quiet!” And the wind abated, and a great calm set in.
39 Ẹre ọ na ghi kpaegbe, ọ na we ne ẹhoho nii wa dobọ yi. Ọ na vbe tama okun nii wẹẹ: “Dobọ yi, ne u hunwan hii!” Ẹhoho nii keghi dobọ yi, ehe hia na do ye hii.
40 So he said to them: “Why are you so afraid? Do you not yet have any faith?”
Wa i he ye mwẹ amuẹtinyan?”
41 But they felt an unusual fear, and they said to one another: “Who really is this? Even the wind and the sea obey him.”
41 Sokpan, orrirri keghi gbe ku iran, ẹre iran na gha gu egbe guan wẹẹ: “De ọmwa ne ọna gele khin, ne ẹhoho kevbe okun wa họn ẹmwẹ na?”
