Mak  2 : 1 - 28

2 However, after some days he again entered into Ca·perʹna·um, and the word spread that he was at home.

2 Vbọrhirhighayehẹ, vbe ikpẹdẹ eso ghi gberra nẹ, Jesu keghi werriegbe gha rrie Kapaniọm; emwa keghi họn wẹẹ, ọ rre owa.

2 And so many gathered that there was no more room, not even around the door, and he began to speak the word to them.

3 And they brought him a paralytic carried by four men.

3 Emwa eso keghi mu orhunmwu ọkpa nẹi sẹtin khian bu ẹre gha dee; ikpia enẹ ẹre ọ dada ẹre rre.

4 But they could not bring him right to Jesus because of the crowd, so they removed the roof above Jesus, and after digging an opening, they lowered the stretcher on which the paralytic was lying.

4 Sokpan, iran ma sẹtin muẹn sẹ eke ne Jesu ye, rhunmwuda emwa ni ma ye evba; ẹre iran na ghi gbe uvun ye odukhunmwu owa vbe eke ne Jesu ghaa ye, iran na ghi la evba mu ebẹdi ne okpia nii nẹi sẹtin khian lovbiẹ yi gha die otọ.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic: “Child, your sins are forgiven.”

5 Jesu ghi bẹghe vbene iran mwẹ amuẹtinyan hẹ, ọ na ghi tama okpia nii nẹi sẹtin khian wẹẹ: “Ovbi mwẹ, a ya orukhọ ruẹ bọ ruẹ nẹ.”

6 Now some of the scribes were there, sitting and reasoning in their hearts:

6 Na kha na, avbe skraib eso tota ye evba, iran na gha tae vbe uwu ekhọe iran wẹẹ:

7 “Why is this man talking this way? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins except one, God?”

7 “Vbọzẹ ne okpia na, na guan vbenian? Te irẹn rhooro na! Ọmwa rhọkpa gha sẹtin ya orukhọ bọ ọmwa ra, vbọ gberra Osanobua ra?”

8 But immediately Jesus discerned by his spirit that they were reasoning that way among themselves, so he said to them: “Why are you reasoning these things in your hearts?

9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and pick up your stretcher and walk’?

10 But in order for you to know that the Son of man has authority to forgive sins on earth—” he said to the paralytic:

10 Sokpan, ne uwa mieke na rẹn wẹẹ, Ovbi ọmwa mwẹ asẹ nọ ya ya orukhọ bọ emwa vbe agbọn na—” ẹre Jesu na ghi tama okpia nii nẹi sẹtin khian wẹẹ:

11 “I say to you, Get up, pick up your stretcher, and go to your home.”

11 “I tama ruẹ nian, Kpaegbe, mu ebẹdi ruẹ, ne u gha rrie owa.”

12 At that he got up and immediately picked up his stretcher and walked out in front of them all. So they were all astonished, and they glorified God, saying: “We have never seen anything like this.”

12 Ẹre ọ na gele kpaegbe; vbe ọwara ọkpa nii, ọ na tọn ebẹdi ẹre mu, ọ na sirra iran hia khian kpa. Ọ keghi yan iran hia unu ruan, iran na gha rhie uyi ne Osanobua, iran na wẹẹ: “Ma ma he miẹn egbe emwi vbenian ẹdẹ.”

13 Again he went out alongside the sea, and all the crowd kept coming to him, and he began to teach them.

13 Jesu keghi werriegbe gha rrie ọkpẹn okun, ẹre emwa nibun na gha bu ẹre rre, ọ na suẹn gha ma iran emwi.

14 And as he was passing by, he caught sight of Leʹvi the son of Al·phaeʹus sitting at the tax office, and he said to him: “Be my follower.” At that he rose up and followed him.

15 Later he was dining in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners were dining with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many of them who were following him.

15 Vbọ ghi zẹ kpẹẹ, Jesu na gha rri evbare vbe owa e Livai. Irẹn vbe erhuanegbe ẹre kevbe iran nibun ni koko igho uhunmwu, kẹ kevbe emwa orukhọ ẹre ọ koko gha rri evbare; iran wa gha bun ni ghaa lelẹe khian.

16 But when the scribes of the Pharisees saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they began saying to his disciples: “Does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

16 Sokpan, avbe skraib ni vbe re Farisi ghi bẹghe ẹre wẹẹ, ọ gu emwa orukhọ kevbe iran ni koko igho uhunmwu rri evbare, iran na suẹn gha nọ erhuanegbe ẹre wẹẹ: “Vbọzẹ nọ na gu emwa orukhọ kevbe iran ni koko igho uhunmwu rri evbare yi?”

17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them: “Those who are strong do not need a physician, but those who are ill do. I came to call, not righteous people, but sinners.”

17 Jesu ghi họn ẹmwẹ ne iran tae, ọ na tama iran wẹẹ: “Emwa ne egbe rran rẹn i gualọ ọbo nọ khian sinmwi iran, sokpan iran ni khuọnmwi. Emwa orukhọ ẹre I rre do tie, ẹ i re emwa ni lele uhi.”

18 Now John’s disciples and the Pharisees practiced fasting. So they came and said to him: “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees practice fasting, but your disciples do not practice fasting?”

18 Erhuanegbe Jọn kevbe avbe Farisi ghaa mu awẹ. Ẹre iran na ghi bu e Jesu gha dee, iran na nọ rẹn wẹẹ: “Vbọzẹ ne erhuanegbe Jọn kevbe erhuanegbe avbe Farisi na mu awẹ, sokpan, erhuanegbe ruẹ i mu awẹ?”

19 So Jesus said to them: “While the bridegroom is with them, the friends of the bridegroom have no reason to fast, do they? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

19 Ẹre Jesu na tama iran wẹẹ: “Esa rrọọ ra, ne avbe ọsie ọdafẹn ọha ya gha mu awẹ, vbene ọdafẹn ọha na gu iran rre evba ra? Ugbẹnvbe ọdafẹn ọha ye gu iran rre evba, esa i rrọọ ne iran khian ya gha mu awẹ.

20 But days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast on that day.

20 Sokpan, ẹdẹ dee na gha ya rhie ọdafẹn ọha hin eke ne iran ye rre, ọ gha ghi sẹ ẹghẹ nii, iran ghi gha mu awẹ.

21 Nobody sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old outer garment. If he does, the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear becomes worse.

21 Ọmwa rhọkpa i rrọọ nọ khian se ukpọn ọgbọn kevbe ukpọn ọwiẹyi kugbe. Ọ gha ru vberriọ, ukpọn ọgbọn nii ghi yuo fua vbe ukpọn ọwiẹyi nii, ẹghẹ nii, ukpọn nii ghi yanghan sayọ.

22 Also, no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost as well as the skins. But new wine is put into new wineskins.”

22 Erriọ vbe ye, a i miẹn ọmwa nọ khian sa ayọn ọgbọn ye ẹkpo ohian nọ wiẹn nẹ. Ọ gha ru vberriọ, ayọn nii ghi ya ẹkpo ohian nii sa, ẹghẹ nii, ayọn nii ghi tue kua, ẹkpo ohian nii ghi vbe rhia. Sokpan, ẹkpo ohian ọghe ọgbọn, ẹre a sa ayọn ọgbọn yi.”

23 Now as he was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, his disciples started to pluck the heads of grain as they went.

23 Vbe Jesu ghi la ugbo ọkpa khian vbe Ẹdẹ Ikẹtin, erhuanegbe ẹre na suẹn gha ya obọ khuọn emwiokọ eso vbe ugbo nii, zẹvbe ne iran ya khian.

24 So the Pharisees said to him: “Look here! Why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”

25 But he said to them: “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and the men with him were hungry?

25 Sokpan, Jesu na ghi tama iran wẹẹ: “Wa ma he tie vbekpa emwi ne Devid ru, vbe ẹghẹ nọ na gha rre ivbabọ, ne ohanmwẹ na gha gbe irẹn vbe ikpia ni ghaa lelẹe khian ra?

26 How, in the account about A·biʹa·thar the chief priest, he entered into the house of God and ate the loaves of presentation, which it is not lawful for anybody to eat except the priests, and he also gave some to the men who were with him?”

27 Then he said to them: “The Sabbath came into existence for the sake of man, and not man for the sake of the Sabbath.

27 Ẹre ọ na vbe tama iran wẹẹ: “Rhunmwuda ọmwa, ẹre a gu mu Ẹdẹ Ikẹtin gbọọ, a ma yi ọmwa rhunmwuda Ẹdẹ Ikẹtin.

28 So the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

28 Rhunmwuda ọni, Ovbi ọmwa ọre Arowa, uhiẹn, irẹn ọre Arowa ọghe Ẹdẹ Ikẹtin.”
