ewua [ ˥ \ ] (1) act of waking the
    Ɔba by a shout similar to a cock’s
    crow. (2) name of the “gang”
    (band) whose task it is to wake
    the Ɔba. The office was created
    by the Ɔba Ɛsigie [ ˥ ˦ ˩ ], therefore
    all the members of the ewua
    [ ˥ \ ] wear a cross. Their leader
    is the Ohu-ɔba [ ˥ ˩ ˥ ˥ ], and “to
    wake the Ɔba” is ki-ewua [ ˩ ˥ \ ]
    (kie [ / ]).
